That’s how much we saved with coupons this past month.  Let me say that again…  We saved $154.01 in coupons last month!!

I knew it was a lot, but when I added up the savings on the receipts tonight, I was blown away by the amount!  $74.85 was groceries, $18.18 was eating out, and $60.98 was gifts, games, and decorations.

We bought the Sunday paper the first two weeks we were here, and I clipped only the ones we would normally buy.  Then when we got the grocery store ads on Wednesdays, I’d go through and circle what we needed from each place.  It added a few more stops, but it was totally worth it!  We also got some GREAT deals from the Toys-R-Us ad one week, ate breakfast for FREE at Chick-fil-A one morning, and had a buy one get one free entree coupon for Logan’s last Saturday.

I’m sold — I’ll be using coupons as much as possible from now on.  And now I think I’ll make myself a challenge and see if I can beat that price this month!

Do you use coupons?  Any secrets/tips?

    Hey Staci!
First time commenting but I knew I had to when you mentioned coupons! I’m still fairly new to being a consistent coupon shopper. But now that I’m a stay-at-home, I don’t have a choice. We have a weekly budget for groceries and I have to stick to it (although I admit I go over once and a while with diapers and formula). Using double and triple coupons are definitely worth it! If anyone has any other tips, I’m all ears!!

Hey Amanda! Thanks so much for commenting! I hope you and your fam are doing so well 🙂 Where do you find the stores that will accept double and triple coupons? Do you have HEB where you are? Because we’ve saved a TON there with all of their “buy this item, get this other item free” things.

Don’t know if you already do this, but most stores let you combine an instore coupon with a manufacturer’s coupon. (Not sure of HEB since we don’t have one) Target and Meijer have their exclusive coupons online on their websites. You can just print them and combine them with any manufacturer’s coupon you got from the paper. I was amazed when I found this out!! It does take time, but I think it is totally worth it
